A Pinch Of Peachy Days
June has arrived (somehow) with, dare I say, hot weather. At least fresh summer produce is hitting its stride 🍑

A Pinch of Peachy Days
Sun’s out, guns and buns out. Sky’s out, thighs out. Different cheesiness here than last week. That said, we are hitting the summer stride, which brings our first 90-degree day on the horizon this week here in Philly. I can’t say I love a sweaty day, but I’ll manage with some beach days in the future.
That said, the sunny days do bring some damn good produce. June welcomes a star-studded lineup, even before we get tomatoes – we all know how much I love tomatoes.
I already have a rundown of recipes recently saved that feature many of these:
Summer Corn and Zucchini Pasta with Ricotta from Food & Wine
Vanilla Cheesecake with Peaches from The Silver Spoon’s The Italian Bakery (sorry no recipe here, teasing the book, but think Peaches and Cream vibes)
Whole Foods Berry Chantilly Copycat Cake from Broma Bakery
I promise I’m not picking favorites from that lineup because I have to say that a good crisp, cold bite of watermelon in the summer is hard to compete with. Plus, I’ve slowly been discovering my love for mango each year with new recipes. And I had apricots for the first time last year!
What’s Cookin’
Baking and pasta seem to have been consuming the mind as of late, outside of my usual weeknight meals that aren’t as exciting to feature here. Thankfully there are a few highlights, and a great meal from a friend.
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

This feels weird to even bother sharing a recipe for, since it’s literally just pasta with garlic and oil (plus red peppers flakes and parsley). So if you’re curious for more, here’s one from Serious Eats or take a gander at the long reddit thread, the place full with no shortage of opinions.
The highlight here is really because I actually stuck to my intention and broke out the (all too expensive) olive oil that I bought during the Di Bruno After Hours experience, used as a drizzle over to add the final touch.
Simplicity at its finest.
Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad

This was a fun one, a little combo of a few favorites: pasta, caesar salad and rotisserie chicken. I mostly followed this Food 52 recipe as far as the quantities, but I had to go with the trusty cae sal dressing recipe.
Would recommend for summer barbecues, or just as meals like I did. After a couple days, it could’ve used a bit more dressing, but it still tasted great.
Pork Banh Mi Burgers

Shoutout to Red for this one. Cooked up some goods for a nice little kick off to the week. Big fan of the burger, and he paired it with some cucumber salad and roasted sweet potates. First time having a pork burger, great deal.
A Pinch Of Favorites Map: Sally
I gotta do a callout to a neighborhood favorite – which was a favorite before moving over this way. Sally was a clear pick for the Pinch Of Favorites map.
Last week I got to explore The Barnes Foundation for the first time with my mom, and we capped off the great day with a trip to Sally during happy hour for some great bites and a pie.

ricotta toast with preserved lemon
Lotta good eats with good company this past week, and whole lot more ahead with some time outside already planned for the week ahead. Time to accept the sweat. Summer’s here, baby. Head to the farmers markets. Get on the beach or the lakes. Or just enjoy the windows being open.
Have a peachy week 🤘
